Why did you guys create this site?

Guys need help. We guys often have good intentions and not so good execution. We created this site because we knew that Internet technology was the best way to connect thoughtful guys with the right gifts for the women in their lives. Thoughtfulguy.com connects good intentions with great execution, every time. With all of the hassles in the world, we figured a site that brought people closer together was just what guys (and women) needed.

Is there a fee to be a Member or to use any thoughtfulguy.com service?

No. Membership and all of our gift selection services are free. You pay only for the gifts that you purchase.

How do you use the Recipient preference information?

We use the preference information to match gifts to each of your Recipients. We designed each preference question to determine whether a Recipient is a candidate for particular types of gifts. The more accurate the information, the more likely our gift selections will be just right for your Recipients.

What if I do not know how to answer the preference questions about a Recipient's likes and dislikes?

If you do not know the answer to a question or two, then just leave the default answer. If you do not know the answer to several questions, then we recommend that you (i) ask the Recipient some questions to figure out the answers; (ii) ask someone who knows her well if they know the answers; (iii) have her fill out her preferences - she will likely love it!

Where do you find the gifts you offer?

Our vendor partners provide all of the gifts we feature. We carefully selected our vendor partners so thoughtfulguy.com features a wide selection of quality items. Our goal is to have a variety of ideal gifts for each woman for each occasion. We are consistently on the lookout for new partners, so let us know at john@thoughtfulguy.com if you have a vendor in mind or if you are a vendor who would like to start a conversation.

How do you determine the price for the gifts you offer?

The price we charge for each item is the typical market price for that item.  We do not charge a "handling" or other fee.  In most cases, there is no shipping charge.  If there is a shipping charge, then that charge is intended to reflect the actual shipping cost.

What about sales tax?

Thoughtful Guy, LLC is the retailer of gifts to our Members through thoughtfulguy.com. State laws require us to collect and pay sales tax on the sale of each item that is delivered in Ohio. We are not required to collect or pay sales tax on any other sales. Thoughtfulguy.com automatically calculates and applies sales tax to applicable transactions.

What if I need a gift for a non-recurring event like a graduation?

Simply click on "Find a Gift" at the top of the screen.  We will ask you a few questions to guide you to the right gifts and then you can browse related gifts and refine your search as you wish.

What is your return policy?

The return policy for each item is set by the vendor partner who provides the item.  You may view the return policy for any item by clicking the "Return Policy for this Item" button when you are viewing detailed information for that item.

How do  I track the status of an order?

If an item is delivered with tracking, then we will send you an email to track the delivery status through the carrier (UPS, FedEx, UPS, etc.).  If you ever have a question about an order, then please contact us at john@thoughtfulguy.com.

What do you do to help gifts I select arrive on time?

The key to timely deliveries is to start the process in advance. For scheduled Events, we send you gift selections well in advance of the Event. We tell you for each product how long it takes for the order to be processed.  You usually have multiple shipping options for each item.  If you select a gift promptly, then - barring an unforeseen delivery problem - the gift should arrive in plenty of time for you to practice your smile and delivery before you give it.
